helloWe support grass roots organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa working with orphaned, abandoned or abused children and children affected by HIV/AIDS.Sub-Saharan Africa is more heavily affected by HIV and AIDS than any other region of the world. By the end of 2005, an estimated 2 million children were living with HIV in this region. In just the past year, the AIDS epidemic in Africa has claimed the lives of an estimated 2 million people. More than twelve million African children have been orphaned AIDS, a numbing statistic but each one is an individual child facing hardship. Through Bethan's Fund we can make the lives of some of these children materially better.
ABOUT BETHAN'S FUNDBethan Lloyd Bonell was born on 31 October 2004 and died three days later. Her parents and their friends set up the charity, Bethan’s Fund in December 2006, in her memory to raise money to help other babies and children. Bethan’s Fund supports community agencies working in sub-Saharan Africa because this is where the need is greatest and where our support will go furthest. It is a registered charity and was set up in December 2006. Bethan generated a massive amount of love in her very short life, deeply touching the lives of her family and their friends. We want to remember her by knowing that we are doing something to stop other children suffering and dying. |
